We are a friendly group of people who enjoy dancing. If you have been to a Barn Dance you will have experienced a similar style of dancing to ours, but we have a greater variety of moves, and usually it is not so boisterous. As one of our regular dancers explained “We exercise without noticing it. We meet and dance with friends, accompanied by lovely music”. A caller leads the evening. Dances are walked through 2 or 3 times without music to practise the moves, and it is then danced. The caller continues to give instructions over the music, so that hopefully everyone keeps together. Beginners are most welcome, and the dancing is fairly straightforward to learn, so come on your own, or with friends, as people often change partners for each dance. If you want more information phone David on 020 8715 2148, or e-mail Pam on pamjonsoph@gmail.com. All you need are soft shoes, comfortable clothing and a zest for a new challenge. The first evening is free, so you can see if you like it. Subsequent evenings cost £6.00 for members or £6.50 for visitors, and this includes tea/coffee and biscuits in the interval. There is an annual membership fee of £3.00. The St.Nicholas church hall and its car park have an entrance which is surrounded by a tall brick wall. It is in Summer Road, almost opposite Riversdale Road.
