TVM generally dance the dances in the style of the tradition, often as notated by Bacon but mainly as developed by the older members of the side over the 40 years the side has been dancing.
The prime traditions of Thames Valley are Oddington and Sherbourne. TVM reconstructed the Oddington from the notes and has made it its 'own' tradition: a brisk, vigourous dance, danced with a subdued aggression.
Other traditions danced include Fieldtown, Bampton, Headington, Ilmington, Ascot, Adderbury, Bledington, Ducklington and Upton with odd dances from Brackley and Bucknell. More recent dances include Moulton and our own offerings, see Glaister's Gambol
TVM is probably a traditional 'ring' side in its style of dance, generally brisk and low with the capers slow and high in contrast. It's a mixed age side so the height achieved depends on the age of dancers, the good dancers look as if they are dancing high.
