Annual Events: The Boxing Day tour

Webfeet Home Up Search Help

Boxing day is the traditional 'handing over of power' day for Thames Valley Morris; it is when the retiring Squire dances out and the new Squire dances in. It is also a favoured day when new members of the side do their first jig in public and become full members of the side.

It is also the day where the side dances a full tour round the pubs of Claygate, the order can vary from year to year.

The 1999 Boxing day tour will be on Sunday 26th and cover the following pubs.

(see the map) and drinking will carry on until dark.
