Webfeet: English Ceilidh, When and Where to dance

Webfeet Home Up Search Help

There's quite a number of series of English Ceilidh organised round the South East of England, two (at least) in London at Cecil Sharp House Occasionally the series include other 'styles' of dance, American Contra or Square, Cajun, International, to ring the changes. This is more likely in places where there's only one group running the dances in the town and they have a number of different tastes to cater for.

For a wider view, check the Ceilidh What's on list for a diary of events and the location based list for the same information broken down a geographically.

The most intensive Ceilidh dancing is generally at Folk Festivals. Different festivals have a different bias, some angling more towards song, some towards dance - the best can give three of four Ceilidhs in a weekend.

I've gleened this information from various flyers that I have found around London so a disclaimer applies: it's really only as up-to-date as the last bit of paper (or correction) I have found.
